Why Dieting Disappoints People

The term fat burning diet is a misnomer. Fat loss will not occur from dieting. You will only lose fat from your body through exercise.

If you want to lose fat, you are going to have to exercise. However, there is much for you to find out about fat burning exercise, because not all exercise burns fat.

Fitness Gurus Speak About Fat Burning Diets

That is correct.  When you follow an exercise program to lose fat, you need to have a way of eating that enables maximum fat burning to occur.  That way of eating is called a fat burning diet. You need to follow a fat burning diet, in conjunction with your exercise, or you will burn fat more slowly or perhaps not at all.

Dieting Does Result In Weight Loss

For sure, millions of people have lost weight by dieting. But, fat loss is very different than weight loss. Dieting, by itself, does not result in fat loss if you do not exercise. Weight loss can result from dieting, but not fat loss.

How You Get Fatter

Understanding the way in which you gain weight and fat, is really quite simple.  When you use fewer calories than you eat, you add weight and fat to your body.

You will get fatter when you consume more calories than you use, because your body stores the extra calories as fat. Use 3,500 calories less than you eat, and you will put 1 pound of fat on your body.

If you apply logic to this, you would expect to lose 1 pound of fat from your body by eating 3,500 fewer calories than you expend. Unfortunately, losing fat is not that simple.

Dieting, by itself, will not result in fat loss- even if you restrict the amount of calories you eat to 3,500 fewer than you use.  If you do that, you will lose weight. The weight that you lose will be from reduced muscle mass and reduced water in the body. You will not have lost fat.

What You Will See When You Diet Without Exercise

If you diet successfully, without exercising, your scales will tell you that you have lost weight. Unfortunately, your mirror never lies.  It will tell you that the fat you wanted to lose from you waist or hips or thighs or legs or from wherever, is still there. You will see skin that is hanging from the place where you used to see some muscle.

Also, you will probably put the weight back on when you finish dieting. When you come off the diet, your body will replenish the water that you lost when you were on the diet. Moreover, you run the risk of poor health if you remain on a diet that does this for too long. Your body needs a certain amount of water to function properly.

It is unfair, I know. But those are the rules your body adheres to.

Fat Burning Diet: What You Need To Do To Burn Fat

There is more to it than just what you eat. It also has to do with how you eat and when you eat. The internet and bookstores abound with articles and books on what to eat in order to maximize fat burning. However, many people find that a fat burning diet is too strict for their liking.

If this is the case for you, just use common sense on what you eat. You know that frequent fast food meals and regular beer drinking is not going to help you to lose fat.

As long as you exercise good judgment on your choice of foods to eat, and exercise as well, you will burn fat if you consume fewer calories than you use. Having done that, when you eat and how you eat will play a much bigger role in helping to lose fat.

When And How To Eat For Fat Loss

Good fat burning programs not only provide you with exercise information, but they also tell you what you need to know about eating. It will also help you to make the transition from the current way in which you eat, to the way that will help you to rid your body of unwanted fat.
